About Windsor Door
Windsor Door came into existence just 2 years after World War II was over in a small company that started as a manufacturer of folding attic stairways. The first sectional steel garage door, namely the Won-Dor, was designed by a businessman from Detroit in the late 1940s. The Su-un won through the sales and became part of the Sears Roebuck Corporation.
From the parent company, Windsor Door was obtained in 1961 and subsequently the name was changed. Two years later, in 1963, the company set up a $ 200,000 facility in Little Rock, Arkansas, where it unveiled its pioneering tongu&groove sectional door model that turned into a new industry standard.
Windsor was acquired in 1969 by CECO Corporation from the long-running owner C.E. Webb S&r who had owned the company since 1954. Windsor subsequently had a variety of ownership changes with agreements through mergers and acquisitions for next four decades.
In the year 2011, Garage Door Services of Houston gained the assets of the company and then they restored the original brand, putting the name back on the market as Windsor Door.
